आज राहत इंदौरी हमारे बीच नहीं रहे. लेकिन आधूनिक भारत के शायरों में उस मुकाम पर थे जहां से एक महान शायर बनने का रास्ता आसान हो जाता है. लेकिन इससे पहले ही वो चल बसे. राहत इंदौरी आज भी अपने शब्दों में वो हर कुछ कहने की हिम्मत रखते थे, जो लिखने या बोलने से पहले बड़े-बड़े साहित्यकारों के कलम और जुबान लड़खड़ा जाते हैं.
